WCB seeks comment on Category 2 Budgets, specifically addressing:

WCB seeks nominations for USAC Board member positions for three year terms. Nominations are due by October 27, 2017.

In its first order of 2017, the FCC denied an application for review filed by Net56, after both USAC and the Wireline Competition Bureau found that Net56’s appeal had been untimely filed because it was received more than 60 days after receipt of commitment adjustment decision letters (COMADs) from USAC.

Media sources are reporting that President Trump will nominate current FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai to be the chair of the FCC.

In one of its last actions of 2016, the FCC granted a $36 million appeal filed last May by the Sweetwater Consortium on behalf of more than 40 Tennessee school districts. 

As his tenure as FCC head winds down, Chairman Tom Wheeler’s enforcement priority appears to be universal service.  Over the past five weeks, the Commission has issued four decisions finding apparent violations of the USF rules, and has proposed heavy penalties in the Commission’s first-ever enforcement actions involving the rural health care program and the high-cost program.
