Comment Cycle Set for E-rate Tribal Applicant NPRM

On February 16, 2023, the Wireline Competition Bureau issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Schools and Libraries E-rate program regarding improvements to the E-rate program for Tribal applicants. 

Comments are due April 24, 2023, and reply comments are due May 23, 2023. 

The Commission seeks comment on (1) ways to further improve E-rate program rules and encourage greater Tribal participation in the E-rate program and (2) whether there are other small or rural non-Tribal applicants that face similar barriers that impact their equitable access to the E-Rate program.  Comments and reply comments should be filed in the Federal Communications Commission’s Electronic Comment Filing System and reference CC Docket Nos. 02–6, 96–45, and 97–21.
