Open Internet NPRM Comments Due December 14, Replies due January 17

On October 20, 2023, the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) proposing to restore the framework of the Commission’s 2015 net neutrality rules, which classified broadband Internet access service as a telecommunications service and classified mobile broadband Internet access service as a commercial mobile service.

The NPRM also proposes to forebear from much of the Commission’s Title II regulations, including rate regulation and network unbundling.  Comments are due December 14, 2023 and replies are due January 17, 2024.
