President Biden Nominates Jessica Rosenworcel for FCC Chair

On October 26, 2021, President Biden nominated Jessica Rosenworcel as Chair of the Federal Communications Commission.

Commissioner Rosenworcel is the first woman to serve in this capacity. President Biden also nominated Gigi Sohn to the open seat on the Commission. Both Rosenworcel and Sohn now must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Reports say the hearings before the Senate Commerce Committee are being scheduled for the week of November 15.
